The work of a budget analysts is vital. They help keep finances in order, establish spending protocol, set regulations and develop a game plan for future financial success. Analyzing past budgets, evaluating economic conditions and seeking funding methods are all important aspects of this job.

Training and Qualifications

Budget analyst work with numbers and make calculations on a daily basis. The ability to look at data and discern what that data means is a big part of this job. This involves creating budgets, using computer software, implementing financial formulas and other important functions. Budget analysts also have to prepare written reports and budget proposals.

Education

While it is possible to work as a budget analyst with a bachelor’s degree, most budget analysts have a master’s.
